Club Ride to Squires Garden Centre – Washington
The ride starts at 09:00 from Ditchling Village Hall. Groups to be formed on the day. Should be a more forgiving ride than last Sunday.
Longer ride 26.2 miles – 761ft ascent
Standard ride 21 miles – 415ft ascent
Involves a short 300m ride up a narrow path alongside the A24 before the venue and back down it afterwards. There is a tarmac footpath alongside the A24, it is covered in leaves for 50% of the route but rideable. Going north afterwards isn’t recommended, it’s 1.4km to the Ashington turn off and you would have to be on the A24 for about half of it.
Bikes can be kept in a closed outdoor area where they are visible from the restaurant, take the wooden gate to the left of the centre cashpoint exit.
