Once again, we are supporting the very worthwhile Burgess Hill Bike Ride, and this takes the place of our club run this week. This ride is run for the benefit of local charities, and has a great social atmosphere.
*Note that this ride starts in Burgess Hill, NOT Ditchling*
The ride starts at 09:00 at the Queens Crescent car park, next to Burgess Hill station. You need to register to ride, which you can do in advance (and possibly earn a free tee-shirt!) or on the day from 08:00 – the organisers are pretty efficient, so if you arrive by about 08:30, you should have plenty of time to register and form a group with a selection of your fellow Nomads. Remember to bring your entry fee of £20, all of which (I believe) goes to charity. This year’s lead beneficiary will be Headway, which is more than enough reason to take part.
The recommended route covers just over 40 miles (there are 10- and 20-mile options as well, if you want to encourage family and friends to take part) which I’ve mapped here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/24875190 … This is what I think the published directions mean, which differ very slightly from what’s shown on the accompanying map in the Newick area – if in doubt, follow the signage on the road, and of course do whatever the marshals say.
